Dr Mike Hogan
Michael has worked in Dargaville since 1982 after training in Ireland. He has enjoyed many years working as a traditional family doctor providing personal care.
He enjoys being part of the Baylys Beach community and its many recreational opportunities.
Dr Scott Davidson
Scott undertook his General Practice training at Dargaville Medical Centre and Hokianga Health in 1997, then Primecare in Whangarei and spent a year in Kenya working in a Mission Hospital before returning to work at Dargaville Medical Centre in 2000.
Scott became a Partner at DMC in 2002 and has since developed special interests in ophthalmology, skin cancer surgery and emergency ultrasounds. He works 1 day a week in the ophthalmology clinic at Whangarei Hospital.

Dr Cathy Hurd
Dr Catherine Hurd was trained in Canada at the University of Saskatchewan and completed her post graduate training in Family Medicine at Dalhousie University. She moved to New Zealand in 2010 and enjoys living and working in the Kaipara. When she is not at work she enjoys spending time on her lifestyle block and is an avid equestrian.
Dr Neil Hopkins
Neil, as a part-time GP, has interests in rural & emergency medicine, surgery, and assisting those with disabilities. His passion is to help families into a more healthy fulfilling life.
He’s had family connections in Kaipara since 1960’s, co-manages a lifestyle beef block, and enjoys outdoor activities. His Christian faith underpins life and practice. At times, with Bev, they work at a remote village hospital in PNG.
Dr Bev Hopkins
Dr Bev Hopkins is a graduate of Otago University. She has an interest in women’s health, healthy lifestyles, and enjoys the variety that working in general practice provides.
Outside of work she enjoys cycling for leisure, gardening, tramping and bush walking. She is married to Neil and they have 4 adult children and 6 grandchildren.
Jamie Torres - Physician Associate
Jamie Torres, Physician Associate, completed her training from Western University of Health Sciences, in California, in 2013.
She has since worked as a general practice and urgent care PA in the United States providing medical care to rural and underserved populations.
She joined the Dargaville Medical Centre at the beginning of 2021 as an urgent care/emergency PA.
She is happy to be able to pioneer her profession and serve the Kaipara community.

Special interests include Rural Hospital and Procedural medicine, and Health Systems
Dad of three, Husband of one - Christ follower, philosopher hopeful - enjoys chocolate and coffee, soccer and outdoors, and Apple… ideally all at once.
Dr Laurie Herd

Honorary Senior Lecturer University of Auckland. GP teacher. Special interests include dermatology and minor surgery

Judy Harris - Practice Manager
Judy grew up in Paparoa moving to Dargaville after leaving school. She started her career in the ward at Dargaville Hospital as the tea lady moved on to be a hospital aid, then studied and became an Enrolled Nurse, when Enrolled Nurses were being phased out she returned to study and became a Registered Nurse. Judy has worked for the DHB, Te Ha Oranga and Managed Kauri Coast Hospital &Rest Home before moving on to the medical centre 20 years ago to work as a as a Registered Nurse, she then took up the role of Nurse Manager, and is now the Practice Manager. Judy is married with 4 adult children and three grandchildren.
